Minutes of the AGM of the North Wales Veterans Inter-League held at Ffrith IBC on Wednesday November 13th at 11.a.m.

PresentMerfyn Jones and Geraint Roberts (Clwydians), Colin Smith, John Cooper and Archie Lamb (Deeside), Alan Dugdale and Margaret Heard (Gwynedd) and Peter Lacey and Dewi Jones (Wrexham) and Lesley Williams (Chair/Secretary/Treasurer).

The Chair/Secretary/Treasurer opened the meeting with a very relevant background story and welcomed everyone.

There were no Apologies for Absence as each area was represented by at least two people as agreed.

The Minutes of the Previous Meeting were distributed, read and approved.

Matters Arising. The question and availability of Referees was discussed at length yet again. It was agreed that Captains cannot do the job of a referee as well as being Captain. It was agreed that it was simpler now that only one bill was sent out from the Welsh Referees Association and this did help to keep cost down.

Correspondence and Responses. The Chair/ Secretary had previously sent everyone a copy of the proposals from the Deeside Vets and the points were discussed in turn.

1.The four areas each pay £20 to cover affiliation and insurance was agreed, as it is already being done.

2. Using a home green for one game only was discussed and a compromise of using a green no more than twice in any one season was agreed.

3. Players being selected for the area that the club is a primary member of was discussed at much length and in great depth before a vote was taken. As this vote resulted in one vote for, one against and two abstentions, therefore remaining unresolved,  it was agreed that the proposal should go back to Deeside as an area concern whereby Deeside would be obliged to impose this rule on its own players, rather than ask the Inter-League to do it.

The Financial Report was accepted. There is currently £25.10 available. Three areas paid the Treasurer £20 each in cash. One area will send a cheque as soon as possible.

The Draw for 2020. Each game will be played on the first Monday of June, July and August

Game 1.  To be played on Monday June 1st:-      Gwynedd v Clwyd and Wrexham V Deeside

Game 2.  To be played on Monday July 6th :-      Wrexham v Clwyd and Deeside v Gwynedd

Game 3.  To be played on Monday August 3rd :- Wrexham v Gwynedd and Deeside v Clwyd

Any Other Business The Secretary had omitted a proposal from The Wrexham Area so it was discussed here.

1.Wrexham’s proposal was that a player should have played three league games before being eligible for selection to the Inter- League. Following a lengthy discussion the proposal was withdrawn and it was agreed that a player should have played ONE game and must be at least 60 years of age.

2.  Dewi Jones proposed that the Aerospace Cup was brought to the AGM for engraving which would be paid for by this Committee. This was agreed.

3.The Meeting thanked the Chair/Secretary/Treasurer

4. The website set up by Glyn Lockett is no longer in use so Glyn will be asked to remove it.* Is this a correct statement or was it that the site IS in use and is therefore to be left alone.

5. Colin Smith asked if the other three areas were funded. Wrexham receives £60, Clwydians £75 and Gwynedd £40 (per match) from their respective leagues. Deeside will now look in to this.

The date of the next Meeting was agreed to be Wednesday November 11th 2020 (the second Wednesday in November).

There being no other business, the meeting closed at 12 37p.m.
