Another succesful and final competition of the season held at Alstom Bowling club.
Congratulations to the winners John Cussons, Phil Allman, David Haidarovic,
and to the runners up Stan Hugil, Jim Stuart, George Milgate.
The weather was not kind on the tuesday and unfortunately one of the semi finals teams had to withdraw through illness leaving only one semi final to take place on a very moist green, the players showed great skill in avoiding the puddles or using them to their advantage. The Rain eased off as the morning progressed but never completely. Well played to all who provided two entertaining matches with each game being closer than final scores may indicate.
Well done to all those entered and to everybody that assisted with the Marking and measuring.
Huge thanks to Alstom Bowling club for staging the competition and especially those that provided the most welcome refreshments across both days.
Finally a massive massive thanks to Anne Mace in her last competition as Competition Secretary, she has done such a stirling job over the past 8 or 9 years to ensure that we can all enjoy these competitons. Enjoy your retirement from the role Anne you deserve the well earned break .

For those teams travelling to Brewood for the first time may find the following useful.
Brewood
Location/Access : Post Code ST19 9DY, opposite 42 Engleton Lane, Brewood. At the north end of the Jubilee Playing Fields (formally known as the Engleton Lane Playing Fields). If you use Google maps - change to satellite view and the position of the green in the park is really obvious. The green has its own gate so don’t go into the park by the Tennis Court/Kid’s play area entrance as you can’t get through. The club gate is normally locked – the home captain will aim to arrive about 45 minutes before the game is due to start to open up.
Parking: Parking is on the road usually on the same side as the green. We ask that where possible you car share, and that you don’t park in a continuous line but leave a break of a couple of spaces at some point, usually opposite the shared drive (roughly by the tree), so that it allows a pull in for cars to pass.
