Triples Own Partner Competition Held at Fieldhouse Bowling Club Monday 9th September.

A very well run and enjoyable final competiton of the season organised and Run by Helen Hood.

Thanks to Fieldhouse for hosting and a huge thanks to John Cooper for the most welcome refreshments including the much appreciated Bacon & Toasted sandwiches prepared on his brand new appliances.

Thanks to all the entrants and those that assisted with marking, measuring & supporting.

Finally congratulations to the eventual winners Tony Doran, Brian Hickman, Sid Kelly

and to the runners up Pam Ewan, Adrian Darrant, David Wilkinson.

Doubles Own Partner Competition at Penkridge Bowling Club Mon/Tues 5^th & 6^th August 2024

An excellent sociable two days of competition organised by Carol Westwood with some great bowling on a challenging green.

The quarter and semi finals matches were worthy of the final itself.

Thanks to all entered, all that assisted with marking measuring supporting across the two days.

Thanks to Penkridge Bowling Club for hosting especially the catering staff for their excellent sandwiches and cakes.

Finally congratulations to the eventual winners Stan Hugill & James Stuart who successfully defended their 2023 win and to gallant runners up Rob Harbridge & Mary Logan.

Drawn Doubles Competition Held at Stafford Bowling Club 15th & 16th July 2024

Our gratitude goes out to Stafford Bowling Club for hosting this well run competition.

A huge thanks to Helen Hood who stepped in at the last minute taking over as competition secretary to Cover for Carol Westwood who sadly was unable to attend due to illness.

Well done to all 32 players that entered, all that measured, marked and supported.

Special thanks to Stafford Bowling Club especially Vilma Allman for the excellent refreshments provided which included the much appreciated Toasted Sandwiches.

There was some brilliant bowling on show both days in particular the semi-finals which both went the full distance recording 21-20 victories.

Finally congratulations to the eventual winners Dave Bayliss & Brian Hickman

and to the gallant runners up Jan Ivens & Barry Roden.

* For The Attention of Visitors to Fieldhouse Bowling Club *

A cautionary note to all visiting bowlers to Fieldhouse who have the need to park on the road outside.

There was an incident on Thursday 11^th July 2024 whereby a visiting team member found a deep scratch on his car. He was parked on Fieldhouse way, but not impeding anyones’s property. The scratch was on the footpath side of the car.

It is with great sadness to report the passing of Greg Deakin.

Greg passed away on Sunday 30^th June 2024 at home attended by his son Steve.

Greg and his late wife Elaine were long standing members of Hatherton Bowling Club.

Our thoughts go out to Gregs family and friends and all at Hatherton Bowling club.

Funeral arrangements are Friday 9^th August 2024 10.45am at Heath Hayes Crematorium.

Followed by refreshments at The Barns Hotel.

Individual Merit Competition Held at Silkmore Bowling Club 24th/25th June 2024

An extremely well run Competition organised by Carol Westwood in what was her first competition as Competitions secretary ably assisted by Helen Hood.

Thanks to all at Silkmore Bowling Club for hosting and providing the refreshments over the two days and we were treated to some sunshine just for a change.

Well done to all 34 entrants for providing some excellent bowling across both days and to everybody who assisted marking,measuring and supporting.

Finally Congratulations to the Winner Keith Davies and the runner up John Cussons in what proved to be a close fought Final.

It is with great sadness to report that Alan Corbishley sadly passed away last weekend.

Alan had been Captain of Little Stoke B for the last 8 seasons and his passing leaves a

big hole in Little Stoke Bowling Club.

Condolences to his family and friends and all at Little Stoke Bowling club.

Borough Shield 2024

A successful first Competition of the Season The Borough shield was held on the 6/7th May 2024 at the Riverway Bowling Greens.

A massive thanks goes to Helen Hood ably assisted by Phil Hood for the running of this competition.

Well done to all 28 participants, all that assisted with the scoring, measuring and for those that provided the refreshments across both days.
