SOUTH DERBYSHIRE PRIZE PRESENTATION NIGHT

The event will take place at Derby County football club on the evening of Saturday January 20th 2024. Tickets can be purchased £8 each from Ed Furniss, Hannah McDonald or Calvin Jackson.

STARTING TIME OF LEAGUE MATCHES

THERE IS SOME CONFUSION REGARDING STARTING TIME OF LEAGUE MATCHES. As per Rule 25b Evening matches shall start at 7:00 p.m however if a club has no floodlights, the matches shall start at 6:30 p.m. in April until 12th May and from the beginning of August. Those teams with no floodlights are highlighted in yellow on the website fixtures.

SEASON 2024 AND BEYOND

To avoid any doubt the following principles for league formation were agreed at the AGM.

1. Even number of teams in leagues.

2. Top two promoted, bottom two relegated.

3. New teams placed in league where committee deem reasonable (based on likely strength).

4. Amend as little as possible from previous years.

As a committee we will try to follow as many of these principles as possible however in accordance with our rules (rule 28b) "Normal procedure in promotion and relegation shall be the top two teams in any division to be promoted to the division above and the lowest two teams to be relegated. However, the Executive Committee reserves the right to amend this as appropriate." It therefore may be the case that teams who finish higher than second from bottom in a league could still be relegated and equally teams who finish in the top two spots may not get promoted - we will always attempt to promote two teams if necessary at the expense of relegating three or more.
