Wed 31st Dec
Bowlers have been travelling to Portugal for a number of years for bowling holidays in November and March.
This is Dave, the organisers latest new concept, a team of 4 challenge.
If you fancy going, please give him a call.
He has 6 teams so far and is wishing to get 8 teams there.
What a great way to spend a week abroad playing bowls with a chance of winning some prize money along the way.

WELCOME TO THE PENINSULA PAIRS LEAGUE 2025/26

"For the love of bowls"
We begin the second half of our season on Friday 2nd January 2026 at 12 noon.
We are looking forward to another competitive season filled with friendly banter along the way.
We will play every Tuesday and Friday afternoon, starting at 12 noon in Birkenhead Park, Wirral across greens 3 and 4.
A team can register as many players as they wish, however the team on the day will consist of two pairs (4 players)
Each team will play two fixtures per week.
There will be a one off £5 registration fee for all members plus a £3 fee per player for any game played throughout the season.
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and soups will be available each session.
All teams will receive prize money in accordance to what position they finish in the league, and will be paid out at the end of December and again at the end of March.
Team match wins will determine league positions, followed by any draws before looking at the points.
If both pairs win their games, they register a win.
If a team's first pair wins and the second pair loses, the team can still win the overall game, as long as their losing pair scores more than their opponents losing score.
If a team for any reason cannot produce a full team for a fixture, spare registered players from this league will be asked to play.
No games will be given away as walkovers.
If a team has 3 players available, they can choose one of those players to double up. However, the opposition will be awarded 5 shots on the scorecard. The alternative is to ask a spare player who hasn't played on the day from another team to join them for that fixture. This will be an off scratch game.
We are fully affiliated under the Merseyside Crown Green Bowling Association and are covered by the BCGBA's recommended insurers.
We have twelve teams registered for this league.
We look forward to meeting up with some regular faces this Winter as well as some new faces too.
