Winner of the Mens Merit was Robin Bennett  Hanmer who beat Tom Killen Adderley 21-8 in the final at Whixall BC and now qualifies for the British Parks Senior Merit on Sunday 25th August at Hollinshead Park, Sheffield.  alongside  Tom Killen, Jack Hazeldine, Will Childs, Jack Hewitt, David Cunningham, Harry Wilson and Chris Stretch.

In the Ladies Merit   Eloise Fenwick Calverhall beat Marie Scott Hanmer 21-16 and now both qualify for the British Parks Ladies Merit at Brookhill BC ,Warwickshire on Sunday 28th July along with Donna Larke  Tilstock and Eve Hollins Adderley.

Report from Junior comp on Sunday.  A good day in Yorkshire for the British Parks Junior 10 a side championship to get the season going we had two teams a more experienced team and new players for their first experience of a county competition.  17 players in all after a couple of no shows from players who had said they were attending which meant the younger players could play twice in their games to fill the fixtures.  The A team first played Yorkshire B which is still a county player strewn squad under the captaincy of Wayd Pawlowski Wem USC in his last year.  They lost 190 -161  with only 3 winners which put them on the back foot having to win all their remaining games and hope Yorkshire B slipped up. Second game was against Yorkshire C and they convincing won that match 205 -121 with only one loser. Meanwhile Warwick and Worcester were beating Yorkshire B to ensure the last round of matches would decide the winner of the group.  North Shropshire A beat Warwick and Worcester by 6 shots meaning three of the teams in Group A finished on 4 points but Yorkshire B had the biggest agg meaning they progressed to the final.

In Group B the new players for North Shropshire B had the tough draw of Yorkshire A and East Midlands the defending champions but it was a good learning experience for them all and they are the future of North Shropshire Parks and Shropshire going forward.  The final was an all Yorkshire Affair with the Yorkshire A team coming out on top to win by 37 shots.  Home county has won this event for the last three years so next year when we go to Warwick and Worcester maybe it will be their turn to win this championship!

This year the Senior Team will be playing East Midlands, North Derbyshire and Yorkshire in the group stages of the County Championship starting in May.
The Junior section starts on Sunday 21st April with the 10 a side in Yorkshire , Selection letters with be out in the next week or so for this the first comp of the year.
We are also looking for Veterans who would like to represent the area in the Veterans One dayer this year to be held in Yorkshire on Sunday 28th April with the Group stages and the final four sides a month later at the end of May. Anyone interested from affiliated clubs to let Secretary Phil Scott or Andy Smith know of their interest
