ANNUAL SUPPER - Please arrive 7pm for 7.30pm start. We hope you all have a wonderful time! We have had a wonderful response, selling around 140 tickets this year, so a very big thank you for your support!

Doubles final is this Sunday - 1st September 2024 @ Glascote - 2.15pm start. Bowlers to be present by 2pm latest to avoid disqualification.
Reminder - Date of next meeting is 9th September @ Birch Coppice - supper ticket numbers and payments will be required and we also ask for trophies to be returned.

Whilst we appreciate that the weather is not good at the moment, PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL GAMES! The protocol is that both teams turn up to the match and evaluate the green at the time - things can change throughout the day, we have seen this several times! If BOTH CAPTAINS agree that the game should not go ahead - IT MUST BE PLAYED WITHIN 16 DAYS OF THE ORIGINAL FIXTURE DATE. If this is the case, could you please inform the committee of your new match date within 24 hours.

Unfortunately Baddesley B have had to withdraw from the league. This is now reflected in the fixtures, if you haven't got a game on any particular week, this is where your game with them would have been played.

UPDATE - I am pleased to announce that we now have a new President and Treasurer. Thank you to Chris Payne (President) and Richard Athersmith (Treasurer).
There will be no food this season from Tamworth Eagles or Spital, this may change for Spital later in the season, we are all wishing Sue a speedy recovery!

Happy New Year to you all - we hope that 2024 is a good one for all of you!
The AGM will take place on 23rd January 2024 @ BirchCoppice Club - 7.30pm.
You will have 1 VOTE PER CLUB on the following proposals:
1. The league not to start until the 3rd Tuesday in April
2. League cup finals to be played on Friday nights
3. The singles and doubles prelims to pe played on Fridays (this has since been rescinded due to the oversight that a second night be needed if required)
4. Doubles to be played earlier in the season
5. Baddesley Bowls Club would like to enter a 3rd team.
6. Entry fee for singles and doubles to increase to £3.00 per person to increase prize money
7. Every registered player to pay £1
8. All players to have played at least 1 game to enable entry into the singles and doubles competitions
9. If a green is used for a competition final, other than Tamworth Castle for the R Evans final, that green not to be entered into the draw the following season

Proposals for changes for the 2023 season put forward at the PreAGM are as follows:
1 That each team should only be allowed to register a maximum of 12 players (Graham Perry Glascote)
2 Continuous play to be played at all matches (Graham Perry Glascote)
3 That the 6 foot rule should be abandoned (Keith Robinson Tamworth Eagles)
4 Away teams to be given 15 minutes roll up but finish 10 minutes prior to the start time of the game (Andy Clancy Wilnecote)
5 All greens should be given a fair share of holding cup games (Dave Orton Dordon)
6 No neutral games for cup games, that if drawn at your home green, should be able to be played on that green (Terry Guild Grendon)
7 That the fixtures should reflect that the last game of the season to be played as a home game fixture if the green has floodlights (Norman Kester Atherstone Grove)
8 All cup games will be played on a Wednesday apart from the league division cup finals which would be played over 2 nights (Officers)
9 Playing an illegal player in any games, including cup games, will incur a £10 fine per player (Officers)
10 All complaints/issues/disputes will only be dealt with at league meetings. Any complaint/issue/dispute to be put in writing (letter or email) to the committee at least 7 days prior to the league meeting (Gross Misconduct will be dealt with immediately (Officers)
11 Any bowler who qualifies for the quarter, semi or final rounds of the league singles or doubles competitions, who turn up to play but then leave prior to the end of the last game played (unless in emergency circumstances), the green captain to provide the names of those bowlers to the committee and those bowlers will not be eligible to enter the following season (Officers)
12 Any team requesting that a player plays on the 1st half and that player is still there at the end of the match, that team will be deducted one point, this will be the responsibility of the opposing captain to inform the committee (Officers)
13 Once a meeting is closed, no issues to be brought to the officers at the end of the meeting, these issues will have to wait until the next league meeting as AOB is included in all meetings and the meeting will have been closed (Officers)
14 Score cards must be checked and marked on the card every 4 ends with dead ends identified (Officers)
