County Match Final vs South Yorkshire - Sunday 17th September 2023

We played the Final of the Mavis Deardon Supplementary competition on Sunday 17th September

 

The home venue was Stretton Bowls Club and the away venue was Whiteley Woods 

 

After a very close game, Burton just lost overall by 9 shots.

County AGM - Wednesday 25th October 2023

Our AGM will take place on Wednesday 25th October at Stretton Bowls Club, Bitham for 7.30pm start.

Barbaara Lowe will be sending paperwrok next week.

All players welcome

 

 

Presentation Lunch - Saturday 25th November 2023

The annual Presentation Lunch will take place on Saturday 25th November at Winnington Park Recreation Club.

Tea/Coffee will be available from 11.15am with the meal served at 12 noon.

Traditional Turkey with all the trimmings (a vegetarian option will be available).

Christmas Pudding (with another option available tbc), followed by tea/coffee and a mincepie.

The cost will be £20 per person.

Can you please let Barbara Lowe know ASAP as we need to know ticket requirements 

Drivers will be reimbursed travelling expenses.

 Our final group game was played at Littleover Bowls club, we needed a win to secure runners up in the group.

There was some excellent bowling yesterday and we managed to win by 120 shots overall and secure Runners up

 

We are now through to the Mavis Deardon Supplementary competition where we will face Cheshire on Sunday 20th August

County Individual Merit - Sunday 11th June 2023

The Ladies County Individual Merit was played on Sunday 11th June at Winshill BC on a very fast tricky green.

The ladies coped very well with it being so hot, there was some brilliant bowling all day although some ends the woods went anywhere but it was a really good day.

Congratulations to Sharon Tatem beating Mary Mousley in the final, we have threee qualifiers to compete in the Finals Day on 8th July at Tarleton BC, they are Sharon Tatem, Mary Mousley and Barbara Lowe Good Luck to you all. Thank you to everyone who helped during the day and a special thank you to Steve Broadhurst and co for the hospitality.

Hi Ladies, It’s this time again , our first County game .

I want to wish each and everyone of you the best luck for our game against Dudley and district.

Rest assured I will be willing every single bowl in for all of you particularly at home when I’m Refereeing, very quietly of course.

We can do this and it would be great to start our season with a win.

Get round the green and support the team and let’s get us off to a good start.

Dorothy Pearce Doubles

The Dorothy Piearce Doubles Competition was held at Burton Constitutional Club on Sunday 14th June, the hospitality was brilliant. There was some excellent bowling on a nice sunny day, the worthy winners were Maz Kelly-Walley and Gillian Alliot beating Wendy Jackson and Lisa Mills in the final Congratulations to you all.  Thank you to everyone who entered, helped measuring, selling raffle tickets etc, it was really great to once again to run this competition.
