2024 IMC COMPETITION

FINALS

I am afraid it's Deja-vu all over again.

Having agreed an alternative date to avoid the Midland Masters we now find out that

the new date (as agreed with SCBA) now clashes with the new revised date for the Jesse Gough Doubles.

Thanks a lot.

Most of the remaining Sundays are being by the County for competitions.

Reluctantly, we have rearranged our rearranged competition for SUNDAY 29 SEPTEMBER 2024

We apologise for the continued inconvenience.

The Finals will be held at Springvale using both greens for the early rounds.

Later stages will be on the  Large green.

Competition starts at 1pm and will finish around 5pm.

Thu 22nd Aug

2024 B-LV LEAGUE HYM & PRESENTATION EVENING

Early warning of the 2024 HYM which will be held as agreed on:

THURSDAY 3 OCTOBER at 44 Club

The main purpose of the HYM is to discuss and agree on any changes to the League Rules.

Our rules were fairly comprehensively revised last year but any amendments you may have would be welcomed.

Please note - any amendments will need to be seconded and be in the interest of all member clubs and the League as a whole.

The Prize Presentation will follow so please return any trophies you may have so I can get them engraved and polished.

Thank you for your support over the season - even messages of thanks and appreciation which were most appreciated.

PLEASE BE AWARE that the single most important action of our 2025 AGM (Thursday 13 February) will be the appointment of a League Secretary.

It's not a difficult job and full support would be provided.

Anyone interest should give me or Steve a call.

2024 KO CUP COMPETITION: FINALS DAY

What a day!

What a match!

What a game!

Many thanks to all of those who came to support their teams on a perfect sunny day at Meole Brace BC in Shrewsbury.

We were treated to some amazing bowling and a great atmosphere.

SEMI-FINALS:

   WILLENHALL NORDLEY A (174) 8-3 (116) Hawkins (Union Locks)

                                   PENN (162) 8-3 (131) Willenhall Nordley B

I didn't think the events of last year could be matched - where Willenhall Nordley A

who had 4 winners just squeaked M&B (CH) who had 5 winners by just one shot on aggregate to win the Competition by 6-5.

Well this year it was deja-vu all over again.

The Final between Willenhall Nordley A and Penn was a great match.

Wins were alternated throughout the match with the result with just one game left on the green tied at 4-4 with Penn holding a slender shot advantage.

The deciding final game between Roy Joinson and Toby Hobbs was a thriller.

Nothing between the two down to the last end - scores tied at 20-20.

Toby lead with a toucher.

Roy responded with a great wood to move the jack and taking the lead.

Toby then played a brilliant shot to move the jack to get the leading shot back.

Roy then played an unbeleivable shot to touch the jack and win 21-20!

A really great game but sadly Roy's heroics were in vain as PENN finished with 4 winners and the aggregate win to finish 6-5 champions..

 RESULTS:

FINAL:        Willenhall Nordley A (150) 5-6 (160) PENN

               Hawkins (Union Locks) (150) 5-6 (168) WILLENHALL NORDLEY B

Congratulations to our new KO Cup Champions - PENN

Special thanks to Jill and all at Meole Brace for their kind hospitality and preparing both greens for us in splendid shape.
